The ACE Group Classic Partners with Waste Management in ZERO Waste Challenge

Attendees encouraged to take part in “Think Green Giveaway”

NAPLES, FL (FEB. 13, 2013) – The ACE Group Classic and Waste Management have partnered to help keep Naples and the Southwest Florida community beautiful. During The ACE Group Classic, The ZERO Waste Challenge will help divert up to 30,000 pounds of recyclables away from the Collier County landfill and save enough electricity to power 37,500 homes. Marked recycling containers will be stationed next to every waste receptacle throughout TwinEagles during the tournament this week.

“To our company, Thinking Green means looking for new ways to provide the right environmental solutions for our clients and the communities we live in. With so many outdoor events like the ACE Group Classic, we felt like this was the perfect opportunity to divert recyclables out of the waste stream and out of our landfill,” said Larry Berg, Sr. District Manager, Waste Management, Inc. of Florida.

Before the gates opened, Waste Management worked with ACE Group Classic organizers to educate vendors about local single-stream recycling. In addition to commercial recycling containers, Waste Management will also be placing newly designed recycling stations at key locations around TwinEagles.

“Partnering with Waste Management is a great opportunity to help us all do our part in keeping Naples and the Southwest Florida community a clean place to live and enjoy for many years to come,” said Tournament Director Lesley Baker.

Waste Management and The ACE Group Classic invite attendees to take part in the ZERO Waste Challenge by emailing picture of themselves recycling at The ACE Group Classic, along with contact information, to cepperso@wm.com. One lucky winner will take home a “Think Green Giveaway Prize.”
